My 2.5-year-old grabs these butterflies by the wings and fits them into the sorting trays for a solid twenty minutes at a time. The grip work really does strengthen those little hand muscles, and the color matching keeps her focused without needing my help.

The butterfly pieces are sturdy and colorful enough that my two-year-old stays focused for a solid ten minutes sorting them by color. The tweezers are a nice challenge for her little fingers, and I’ve already seen her grip get steadier after just a few days of play.

My three-year-old grabbed the tweezers right away and spent a whole quiet half-hour sorting butterflies by color into the matching spots. It’s been two weeks and she still pulls it out daily, which says a lot for a toy at this age.
